Mr. Mesquita has experience with Anti-corruption and Compliance matters since 2011. His practice involves the coordination of internal investigations related with violations of foreign and domestic anti-corruption laws (specially the FCPA), analysis and elaboration of risk assessment reports, internal policies and codes of conduct, elaboration of training materials for officers and members of Boards of Directors about themes related to corporate governance and corruption, as well as the conducting of due diligence related to compliance and anti-corruption matters. Mr. Mesquita assisted numerous clients with anti-corruption and compliance matters, including highly complex investigations involving multiple jurisdictions and with report to local and foreign authorities, such as Embraer S.A., the first Brazilian company to settle a FCPA case. He was also a member of the first monitorship team lead by a monitor appointed by the Brazilian Prosecutors Office (MPF) to assess the enhancements in the compliance program and internal controls implemented by a company involved in the Car Wash Operation. He holds a graduate degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2013) and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Corporate Law at FGV São Paulo Law School.
